Job Summary
Desirable Qualifications
Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity equity and inclusion into all areas of responsibility; Recent experience working with African American Asian/Pacific Islander Latinx Native American and other racially minoritized students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes; Willingness to examine and remediate ones instructional relational and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students; Related work and professional experience; Experience working with students of various cultural gender age socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds including disabled students; Experience in teaching wildland fire and natural resources classes; Occupational work experience in wildland fire and natural resources; Demonstrated ability to issue National Wildland Coordinating Group ( NWCG ) certificates; Demonstrated ability to involve students in lab activities on school farm or school forest; Attainment of National Wildfire Coordinating Group M-410 Facilitative Instructor OR California State Fire Marshal 1-A/1-B (required to be able to issue NWCG certificates as a course coordinator); Qualified as a Single Resource Boss Crew Boss or Engine Boss (minimum FIRE qualification needed to teach our base level National Wildland Coordinating Group NWCG course work); Minimum of (six) 6 years work experience in wildland fire and natural resources; Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; Knowledge of computer programs related to instructional programs; Knowledge of current assessment methods and materials; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and staff; Potential for contribution to institutional vitality and growth; and Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals
Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom; and Bachelors degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or Associate degree and six (6) years of full-time equivalent professional experience; or A valid California Community College Credential; or The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).
