Job Summary

Summary

The Senior Operations Manager Chain & Components is responsible for championing operational excellence for the Chain & Components business unit including safety quality delivery cost and people leadership. This role drives execution of the BU operating plan improves operational capability through continuous improvement and partners cross-functionally to ensure customer requirements are met while optimizing efficiency and profitability. The Senior Operations Manager coaches the BUs operational leaders on building strong teams establishing performance management discipline and ensuring standardized processes and controls are in place to deliver sustainable results.

Key Outcomes

  • Deliver cost savings across the division
    • Increase the number of Kaizen and other improvement activities by 10x annually within the first two years
    • Increase total Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) / Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) savings by 2x year-over-year across the division by the end of year two
  • Develop the Lean roadmap for our division
    • Partner with local leadership to complete Policy Deployment / X-Matrix / Hoshin Kanri development at each manufacturing site by the end of year two
  • Train coach and mentor staff on RBS processes and methodology
    • Coach plant managers and other site leadership on manufacturing best practices
    • Standardize and drive consistent operations management practices at all sites
    • Partner with local leadership to create development plans for all local RBS leaders by the end of year 1

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to travel---including international travel---up to 75% of the time. Frequency of required travel may increase or decrease based on active CI initiatives.
  • 7 years of operations leadership experience in Industrial Manufacturing required
  • 3 years of experience leading leaders
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Administration or related field required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Understanding of ERP systems in a large organizational environment

Preferred Requirements

  • Multi-site leadership experience preferred
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
