Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus is recruiting a friendly organized and dedicated individual to join our team on campus as a Part-Time Front Desk Library Assistant. This position provides vital support for library operations including assisting patrons managing front desk tasks and ensuring a welcoming and efficient library environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills attention to detail and a passion for helping others access library resources
Basic Roles & Responsibilities are but not limited to:
- Opening and/or closing the Library
- Answering Library patron questions about services on campus online or by telephone
- Performing basic Circulation desk duties such as checking materials in or out
- Reserving study rooms
- Assisting patrons with the printing process
- Assisting patrons with the Library Login Kiosk
- Shelving or re-shelving Library materials using Library of Congress or Dewey indexing
- Assisting with semi-annual Library inventory
- Participating in or supporting Library events
- Participating in ongoing Library skills training
- Referring students to other services on campus such as tutoring advising or testing
An ideal candidate would offer the following skills and abilities:
- Strong communication abilities are necessary for the position
- Professional interaction skills needed with faculty staff students and community members
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic technology skills with willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
- Some Saturday hours required
Up to 28 hours per week
$15.00/hour
Tuition Assistance for Ivy Tech Classes only after one year of employment
High School Diploma required
