Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for a Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory testing operations within a scientific and technical environment.
This role exists to assist laboratory engineers and technicians with sample preparation testing procedures data recording and equipment setup. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented comfortable working with laboratory instrumentation and able to follow structured test plans and technical documentation.
What Youll Do (Skills Used in This Position)
Assist senior laboratory staff in processing laboratory samples and performing tests.
Build configure or adapt basic test setups and equipment for testing activities.
Conduct testing using standard laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Perform routine maintenance and care of designated test equipment and laboratory work areas.
Enter and retrieve information using computer systems and available laboratory software tools.
Follow defined test plans procedures and datasheets as directed.
Evaluate test performance and sample operation to help ensure accurate test results.
Record interpret and explain laboratory test results.
Prepare charts graphs and reports summarizing test outcomes.
Examine samples read measuring instruments and review test data with supervisors.
Read and interpret blueprints schematics wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
Assist in examining customer samples and learning testing procedures applicable to each case.
Communicate with customers during testing setup and operations when required.
Operate designated laboratory equipment and tools under guidance.
Report data and findings to engineers and laboratory technical staff.
Record observed or calculated data on appropriate documentation and data sheets.
Develop working knowledge of laboratory methods instrumentation and systems.
Apply continuous improvement principles in daily work activities.
Follow all organizational code of conduct safety procedures and physical and digital security policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Role
HS diploma or GED.
Understanding of laboratory information systems and general laboratory equipment.
Ability to follow structured testing procedures and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and data recording accuracy.
Basic understanding of laboratory instrumentation and measurement tools.
Ability to interpret technical diagrams such as schematics blueprints or wiring diagrams.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and laboratory staff.
Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $13 - $15 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity. The salary range provided is in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
