Did you know thatapproximatelytwo thirds of the countrys sludge is treated through anaerobic digestion processes where the sludge is treated inspecialisedtanks and heated tohigh temperaturesto kill off harmful bacteria.Anaerobic digestion allows us to produce biosolids whichisused asa soilconditionerfor agricultural land and to generate renewable energy in the form of biogas. This helps us to reduce our reliance on traditional energy sources.

Working in theWastewater(Sewage)teams this is the chance to restartyourcareer with Anglian Water asaBioresourcesMaintenance Technician Apprentice! Join ourBioresourcesteam and train to become a skilled technician in engineering.Youllsplit your time between college and hands-on learning at our sites helping the water recycling process that collects wastewater treats and cleans it before returning it safely to our rivers and seas to safeguard protect and improve the environment.

This is a hands-on practical role working outside in a variety of weather; the work is varied rewarding and at times challenging but no two days are the same! Once qualified youll join a 24/7 standby rota because your role is vital.

Whatyoulldo:

  • Inspectmaintainand care for essential assets and equipment

  • Support fault diagnosis and keep equipment running efficiently

  • Workand learnalongside experiencedmechanicaland electricaltechnicians and follow health & safety rules

  • Take ownership of your development and contribute to team success

Whatwerelooking for:

  • English Mathsand Science GCSEs(grades 94/A*C) we can also accept Level 2 Functional Skills -predicted grades will be accepted if you have not yet completed your exams

  • Genuine interest in the water industry and protecting the environment

  • Good communicationskills and a team mindset

  • Willingness to work outdoors and learn new things

If you do not currently hold a full UK drivinglicenceyoullneed to obtain one by the end of year two of theprogramme or if thisisntpossible due to your age within one year of your 17th birthday.
