DescriptionNorthwestern Counseling & Support Services Inc. (NCSS) is seeking compassionate motivated and flexible candidatesto become Behavior Interventionists and make a difference in the livesof others. Behavior Interventionists provide support to adults with intellectual disabilities or Autism within our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participating as part of a team to initiate activities that support skill building based on a clients Individual Support Agreement (Treatment Plan).
- Navigating maladaptive behaviors and providing needed behavioral support according to clients individualized Behavior Support Plans.
- Assessing and adjustingthe environment to ensure proper support and supervision while utilizing sound judgement and calm demeanor.
- Developing positive and therapeutic working relationships.
- Supporting individuals with communication needs.
- Providing needed personal and/or medical care.
- Documenting progress on Individuals Support Agreement goals.
The ideal candidates will be strong team players exhibit patience and have the ability to calmly and empathetically validate individuals during challenging situations. Therapeutic support experience is preferred; however we are willing and able to train someone who is ready tosupport adultswith intense behavioral needs. Reliable transportation is required.
