Technical and Commercial Advisor

Were looking for a Technical and Commercial Advisor to help our customers achieve their decarbonisation this role youll work closely with commercial industrial and large energy users to develop innovative electrification solutions that make both technical and commercial sense. Youll play a key part in guiding businesses through the complexities of New Zealands energy sector and supporting their transition to a low-carbon future.

Your work will involve modelling embedded generation and battery storage assessing energy flows and analysing process and electrical profiles to quantify costs carbon footprints and the impact of decarbonisation projects. Youll use this insight to design strategies that optimise asset sizing connection capacity and load flexibility ensuring customers can electrify their operations efficiently and sustainably.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role. Youll engage with clients Transpower distributors consultants and renewable energy providers to deliver technically and commercially viable solutions. By building strong partnerships and leveraging your industry knowledge youll help shape projects that deliver value for money and accelerate New Zealands journey toward a net-zero carbon future.

To succeed in this role youll be comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders both within Simply Energy and across customer organisations. Building strong relationships and influencing key decision-makers will be central to your success so outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently are essential.

Were looking for someone with demonstrated experience in a commercial or innovation-focused role combined with an engineering background or strong technical expertise. Your ability to interpret complex technical information and translate it into practical commercially viable solutions will set you apart.

A relevant bachelors degree or technical qualification is required along with proven skills in stakeholder engagement and strategic influence. If youre passionate about driving change have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and thrive in a collaborative environment wed love to hear from you.
