Upper School Science (Biology & Environmental Science)

Fort Worth Country Day is seeking an enthusiastic student-centered educator who loves teaching science and is eager to join a vibrant Upper School community. Reporting to the Head of Upper School this dynamic highly qualified and approachable teacher will serve as both a member of the Upper School science department and an advisor beginning in August 2026.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach five sections which may include 9th-grade Biology AP Biology and AP Environmental Science; specific courses duties and assignments vary from year to year
• Serve as an advisor for ten to twelve Upper School students
• Clearly communicate classroom expectations and grade student work in a timely manner using growth-mindset feedback that provides a clear path forward
• Develop strong partnerships with families
• Plan experiential learning opportunities and off-campus exploration experiences
• Provide extra-help opportunities during free periods and before or after school

Qualifications:

• A minimum of an undergraduate degree in a related field
• 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience is preferred
• Previous work experience in grades 9-12 in a college preparatory independent school environment is preferred
