Sr. Software Development Engineer, Central Learning Solutions

As part of the AI and Agents initiative youll join a cross-functional group of engineers applied scientists and TPMs building intelligent systems that power how 1M Amazonians learn through automation personalization and immersive simulation.

Key job responsibilities
- Architect and build large-scale distributed systems enabling end-to-end AI-driven learning workflows (e.g. Content Creation Management CCM Personalized Learning Experience PLE and AI Learning Coach frameworks).
- Lead design and delivery of production-grade services and APIs powering automation content intelligence multilingual translation and workflow assistants across Amazon Operations.
- Implement and optimize AI integrations leveraging AWS AI services (SageMaker Bedrock Comprehend Translate) and custom LLM pipelines for content generation validation and personalization.
- Mentor and guide engineers in best practices for system design code quality and operational excellence; raise the engineering bar across the team.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with TPMs Scientists and Product Leads to translate business strategy into scalable technical solutions that deliver measurable impact.
- Ensure reliability and observability implementing automation monitoring and CI/CD pipelines using CloudFormation and CodePipeline.
- Contribute to long-term architecture vision influencing build-vs-buy decisions security posture and cost optimization strategies for global learning platforms.

- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
