Cook Transition Care Service (TCS) Pullman Adelaide
This role reports directly to the Executive chef and works in close collaboration with the Executive Assistant Manager Chef - TCS and the Pullman Adelaide culinary and stewarding teams.
About the Role
As a Cook supporting the Transition Care Service (TCS) at Pullman Adelaide you will play a vital role in preparing and delivering high-quality nutritious meals to patients recovering in a hotel-based healthcare setting. This unique position blends culinary skill with compassionate care contributing to the wellbeing and recovery of guests through thoughtful food preparation and service.
Youll be hands-on in meal preparation and cooking ensuring every dish meets dietary needs cultural preferences and food safety standardsall while reflecting Pullmans commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for TCS guests ensuring consistent quality and adherence to dietary requirements.
- Manage kitchen tasks including mise en place platting tray setup stock control waste management and compliance with food safety protocols.
- Ensure meals are presented attractively and meet infection control standards.
- Work closely with kitchen and stewarding teams to ensure timely and organized meal delivery.
- Communicate effectively with the Food Services Coordinator regarding guest needs for seamless service.
- Monitor supplies and equipment dedicated to TCS reporting issues and coordinating maintenance.
- Uphold Pullman Service Standards in every detail every day.
Qualifications :
Skills and Attributes
- Hands-on and compassionate with a passion for creating care through food.
- Calm proactive and detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work across hospitality and care teams.
- Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced guest-focused setting.
- A collaborative spirit and willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or currently working towards).
- Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment as a kitchen attendant or similar position minimum 6 months (hospitality or healthcare preferred).
- Hold (or be eligible to obtain) a South Australian Working with Vulnerable People Check and National Police Clearance.
