Status: Full-time Non-Exempt; Five Days Tuesday Saturday Sunday and Monday off.

Working under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager Technician will maintain a safe attractive and comfortable environment for all students faculty staff and visitors to the campus. Will use knowledge and experience in the trades to conduct general building maintenance and repairs
QualificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of facility maintenance tasks involving the following skills; plumbing electrical carpentry HVAC painting and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Proficiency in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders preventive maintenance and asset history is required.
- Installs repairs and maintains lavatories sinks toilets urinals wash basins drains gas and electric heaters/water heaters water filters water pumps boilers HVAC units water valves drinking fountains and other plumbing systems.
- Repairs and maintains equipment fabrication using arc welding brazing and acetylene.
- Performs electrical repair such as installing light fixtures light tubes outlets switches and ballasts.
- Performs preventative maintenance on electrical heating air conditioning motorized equipment generators and building alarm/building management systems.
- Maintains repair and troubleshoot appliances such as refrigerators stoves ovens and dishwashers etc.
- Competently and safely uses a variety of hand and power tools as well as shop equipment.
- Competently and safely performs tasks on building roofs and other exterior areas using and scaling extension and step ladders.
- Competently and safely operates motorized vehicles including vans trucks and tractors as needed.

- High school diploma OR General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
- Ability to think clearly through processes solve practical problems understand and deal with daily variables physical environments and conditions.
- Ability to understand follow and provide directions in oral and written English and diagram form.
- Team player who works well with others and is willing to contribute to the shared goals of the Maintenance team the Facilities Services department and the University.
- Willing to learn from supervisors and coworkers as appropriate in performing tasks more effectively and efficiently.
- Willing to share knowledge and experience with coworkers to contribute to shared goals.
- Communicates in oral and written form with coworkers in an effective and professional manner.
- Current drivers license and satisfactory driving record required and must be maintained
- Experience using hand and power tools and experience with shop equipment.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Understand the importance of workplace safety and always works and operates equipment and tools in a safe manner.
