DescriptionNorthwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking School Based Behavior Consultants to provide consultation on school wide and individualized behavior plans for students. Opportunities in either elementary middle or high schools are now available! This is a 208-day contracted position which primarily follows the school schedule this means generous paid time off!
Responsibilities include:
- Assessment creation facilitation and implementation of therapeutic educational and behavioral interventions for students within their schools and communities.
- Actively making recommendations to providers for programming along with training guiding and supporting educational and behavioral staff families home and community-based support providers in a variety of settings.
Candidates will be able to implement functional behavior assessments and take these findings to create behavioral intervention plans for teachers paraeducators and/or BI staff. Experience working with children needing ABA services a must preferably experience with children with Emotional Disturbances.
Knowledge of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model and be able to work with an interdisciplinary team to make recommendations for system wide and individual needs. Typical schedule is Monday Friday 8am 4pm allowing some flexibility with earlier start or later end times to accommodate school home and staff meetings before or after school.

QualificationsMasters Degree; or equivalent combination of related education training and experience. BCBA or BCABAs and experience with writing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans are preferred. Will consider candidates working toward their Masters Degree.
