DescriptionPart-time hourly position (Pay Grade 7 Base). Hours will vary weekly based on Branch/Department demands. Must be available to work a flexible schedule which will include evenings and weekends and must attend up to two weeks of Mandatory New Hire Orientation & Training located at the Administrative Offices in Norman.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides high-level customer service by assisting customers in the use of the Pioneer Library Systems resources and works under the direction of the Purcell Public Library Branch Manager. Performs a variety of library tasks involving circulation services collection maintenance and special programming. Has working knowledge in the operation of computers and standard office software products; performs other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation and/or experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Relevant experience;
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred;
- Equivalent combination of technical training education and/or experience may be considered;
- Valid drivers license.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Understands and performs basic functions and tasks of common software programs and email applications;
- Uses and helps others use basic computer hardware;
- Knowledge of libraries library policies and procedures;
- Use or quickly learn to use online circulation systems online catalogs databases and other computer applications;
- Working knowledge in the operation of computers and office machines and standard office software products;
- Strong skills in written and spoken business communications;
- Perform a wide variety of clerical tasks with multiple demands;
- Lift up to 25 lbs; retrieve and replace items from floor level to at least 5 ½ feet in height;
- Work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends based on fluctuating branch/department demands.
