POSITION: Residential Technician (2 positions)
SALARY: $20.00 - $25.78 per hour DOE
REPORTS TO: Administrator Treatment Center
LOCATION: San Poil Treatment Center Keller Wa
Basic Functions:This is a non-exempt Residential Technician is responsible for assisting clients with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Duties include assisting clients with daily schedules leading clients in educational and recreational activities and accompanying them to and from examinations and treatments. Supports the delivery of individual client care.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED and at least 6 months relevant experience in the areas ofaddictions and mental health and/or willingness to learn necessary knowledge.
- Knowledge of private security function obtained through education or work experience; i.e. military public safety or fire department a plus.
- This position is identified as a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment post-accident random and reasonable suspicion drug testing.
- Must submit to and successfully clear fingerprint and criminal history record and maintain throughout employment.
- Must have no history of substance abuse of a period of two (2) years prior to time of employment and must refrain from the use of illicit substances or prescription medications not prescribed by a health care provider during the term of employment.
- Requires a valid drivers license and to be eligible for the Tribes vehicle insurance must maintain license and insurance eligibility throughout employment.
- Requires a First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obatian within 90 days of employment.
- Must become fully qualified as a Recovery Coach Emergency Medical Technician or Behavoiral Health Technician within 12-24 months from date of hire.
- Requires negative TB test within 15 days of hire.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Requires professional experience or personal background that demonstrates a firm understanding of Native American traditions and customs and cultural awareness as they relate to effective treatment delivery. Professional attitude required.
- Requires a high degree of organizational skill regarding independently managing workload and related responsibilities.
- Requires knowledge of and commitment to adhere to confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Requires excellent oral and writing skills and commitment strong documentation.
- Requires an understanding of electronic health record systems and their appropriate use in a chemical dependency treatment setting and/ or willingness to learn.
- Must be proficient with all technology hardware company systems and tools required to perform duties.
- Requires the ability to communicate comfortably with clients family members and significant others and community resources and professionals about recovery-oriented topics.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively with the team and residents.
- Requires the ability to be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Requires the ability to work under tense demanding situations and responding appropriately and professionally in crisis situations.
- Requires the ability to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively.
- Requires the ability to operate a computer and work with various computer software applications.
- Requires ability to work independently and as a member of a healthcare team.
- Requires the ability to maintain professional working relationships with co-workers supervisors and other professionals.
- Requires the ability to complete all required documentation in a professional and timely manner.
- Requires the ability to demonstrate creative problem solving skills.
- Requires the ability to work flexible hours evenings overnights weekends and holidays.
- Requires the ability to work effectively in collaboration with BHP and other Tribal Health Programs.
- Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to walk to project locations to stand for extended periods of time and to bend and stoop for limited periods of time.
- Required to sit stand and climb up/down stairs several times a day; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and ability to talk and hear.
- Requires sufficient arm-hand-eye coordination to operate a computer keyboard and pointing devises at a proficient level.
- Requires sufficient visual acuity to read technical documents and instructions.
- Requires the ability to lift push and pull objects of medium weight (less than 50 lbs.) on an occasional basis.
- Requires the ability to grasp reach push and pull and move light weight work materials and supplies.
- Requires sufficient arm hand finger dexterity to use a personal computer keyboard multimedia and other office equipment.
- Requires sufficient hearing and speaking skills to project voice and communicate with staff students parents and other practitioners in small group settings and in one-on-one conversations.
- Requires visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens.
- Requires willingness to work flexible/shift hours evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
- Requires the ability to drive in adverse weather conditions.
