Position Overview

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students in Beach Park IL. This role is ideal for an educator committed to inclusive learning and individualized instruction for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. The teacher will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote students academic social and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop implement and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations
Provide specialized instruction in Resource Inclusion or Self-Contained classroom settings
Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Collaborate with general education staff related service providers and families
Track and document student progress; prepare progress reports and required documentation
Supervise and support paraprofessionals and classroom aides

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred)
Valid Illinois Teaching License with Special Education endorsement
Strong knowledge of IDEA and Illinois special education guidelines
Effective classroom and behavior management skills
Proficiency with assistive technology and educational software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Prior school-based experience preferred; motivated new graduates encouraged to apply
