Job Summary
Job Purpose and Impact
The Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting maintaining robust internal controls and supporting business decision-making for the grain import and trading operations. This role requires strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively across functions in a dynamic commodity trading environment.
Key Accountabilities
Financial Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Oversee month-end quarter-end and year-end closing processes.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Implement and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
- Support internal and external audits addressing findings promptly.
Business Support:
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support commercial decisions and risk management.
- Collaborate with trading and operations teams to ensure proper accounting for commodity transactions.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
- Drive automation and digitalization initiatives within the finance function.
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
Experience:
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and internal controls.
- Exposure to commodity trading or agribusiness is a strong advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Experience in working with cross functional partners
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Other:
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not mandatory.
