JOB SUMMARY
To assist in the operation of an efficient and accurate warehouse function. Handling inbound and outbound pallet movements and material handling. Ensuring accuracy of system stock levels by carrying out stock takes and maintaining stock systems. Participating in warehouse process improvement activities. Carrying out daily safety inspections of handling equipment. The right candidate will operate safely at all times and have an enthusiasm to help ensure the accuracy of inventory and maintain tidiness of all warehouse and job site equipment and consumables.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are representative of the functions that must be performed in order to satisfactorily fulfill the purpose of this job. Additional functions and duties may be assumed or assigned from time to time.
- Record and log any deliveries received enter stock into system and provide purchase department with delivery notes.
- Must ensure work area is kept clean and tidy.
- Store products in the correct location and segregate as required.
- Ensure the smooth operation of goods-in & goods-out.
- Complete & record monthly stock takes as required.
- Identify damaged goods coming in and report this to purchasing/production manager.
- Dispose of waste correctly and recycle where possible.
- Carry out safety checks of handling equipment.
- Observe health & safety requirements as per the companys Health & Safety Policy.
- Receive and load any pallet deliveries/collections where needed.
- Organize and maintain inventory and storage areas according to company security requirements
- Ensure shipments and inventory transactions accuracy
- Identify areas of improvement
- Participate in process improvement activities.
- Liaise and coordinate activities with other departments
- Any other duty reasonably requested by a supervisor or manager
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Essential:
- Full UK Driving license
- Knowledge of stock control methods
- Proven work experience as a Warehouse Operative
- Attention to detail
- Enthusiastic approach to process improvement
- Data entry skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable:
- Forklift Truck License
- Manual Handling certificate
- Experience of SAP (Business ByDesign variant)
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
