Position:Special Education Teacher - Long Term Substitute Location:Brookside Elementary School (Grade 2 Inclusion)Schedule:April 9 2026 - June 16 2026 (Contingent upon snow days)Salary:TBDTo Start:April 9 2026Qualifications:Mass DESE Educator License - certified Elementary; Mild/Moderate Special Education certification required; Highly Qualified status preferredELL Certification and/or SEI endorsement preferredAbility to create and apply behavior plans Knowledge of grade two curriculum standards Experience administering standardized tests and writing special education reportsExperience developing and writing IEP goals and progress reportsExcellent communication skills requiredNonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program Certification preferredResponsibilities:Consult collaborate plan and co teach with classroom teachers to implement whole class and small group instructionSupervision of students placed in their chargeModify curriculum and make educational accommodations for students with disabilitiesIncorporate social emotional learning skills and strategies throughout the day and development of incentive plansAttend IEP meetings and report on student progressDevelop IEPs progress reports evaluations scheduling students with a variety of special education needs;Administer/interpret a variety of special education regularly with parents/guardians/community agencies and colleagues to ensure student successManagement and collaboration with teaching/behavioral assistantsOther duties as assigned by Building and District Administration and Special Education Team Chair
