The Accounting Specialist is responsible for assisting in the food service department with all finance related duties. This position will also help with general accounting accounts receivable/collection and accounts payable in the finance department.

- Maintains accurate records and filing systems for accountability and audit purposes.
- Ensures that all activities conform to district and state guidelines.
Essential Functions:
- Enter all utility invoices and audit for efficiency.
- Assist with food service department analysis and cost analysis by completing monthly spreadsheets.
- Assist food service with daily bank deposits and reconcile to Primero software.
- Create mileage reimbursement page for managers/designee making bank deposits.
- Protects assets by establishing monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
- Provides status of financial condition of the district by collecting interpreting and reporting key financial data for the food service department.
- Enter account codes on all food service invoices and make sure they are given to the Accounts Payable department for proper and timely payment.
- Complete the CACFP SFSP and/or SNP monthly reimbursement claims.
- Ensures compliance with federal state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation consulting with outside advisors and filing financial reports. Advises management of actions and potential risks.
- Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
- Assist the Director of Accounting with ADT spreadsheets Scholarship spreadsheet and Advertising spreadsheets.
- Assist the Director of Accounting with cash receipts journal entries bank transfers and manual checks.
- Assist the Director of Accounting with projects throughout the year as needed.
- Carry out all other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel both in and out of the district.
