Job Summary

Assignment Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Full-Time 40 Hours per Week
Shift: Day Shift 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $64.60
Weekly Gross: $2584
Weekly Stipend: $1624
Position Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures by preparing handling and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established policies and standards. The Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety maintaining sterility and supporting the surgical team before during and after procedures.
Responsibilities
Prepare organize and standardize surgical instrument setups according to surgeon preferences and facility policies.
Maintain accurate counts of sponges needles and instruments; label and manage medications per established protocols.
Handle and label surgical specimens in compliance with operating room policies and procedures.
Control contamination and ensure proper decontamination disinfection sterilization and sanitation of surgical instruments and equipment.
Properly remove and dispose of used equipment contaminated needles and syringes at the conclusion of procedures.
Assist the circulating nurse and surgical team in planning patient care and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided.
Maintain competency documentation and skills proficiency checklists for equipment procedures and specialty rotations.
Support patient-centered care by identifying and addressing the specific needs of diverse patient populations including considerations for age culture language and physical or sensory impairments.
Communicate effectively with patients families and caregivers at an appropriate developmental and educational level.
Adhere to all organizational standards policies and professional competencies.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to push or pull up to 400 pounds.
Ability to stand for the duration of the scheduled shift.
Qualifications
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred or required per state guidelines.
Prior operating room experience required.
Strong knowledge of sterile technique instrumentation and surgical procedures.
Excellent attention to detail organization and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
