Job Summary

As an Accountant you will ensure financial accounting and prepare reports in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Latvia and OP Pohjola policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

control and reconcile daily transaction data from banking product accounting systems ensuring correct entry into the accounting system (Standard ERP/SAP)

prepare invoices for customers

process incoming invoices and prepayments ensuring proper control and make corresponding entries in the accounting system

execute payments for incoming invoices via online banking and process bank account statements in the accounting system

prepare and process leasing buyout settlements and balance confirmation reports

calculate VAT and CIT and submit tax declarations to the State Revenue Service (VID)

prepare and submit reports to various institutions

participate in OP Pohjola and local projects

ensure storage of branch accounting documents in accordance with Latvian legislation and OP Pohjola policies and procedures

monitor changes in tax accounting and other legislation and implement corresponding updates in branch accounting processes procedures and instructions.

About you

at least 5 years of experience in a bank or other financial institution

good understanding of the Latvian tax system and ability to apply it in practice

excellent knowledge and understanding of credit and leasing services as well as accounting for financial products

analytical thinking

ability to make independent decisions justify your opinion and solve problem situations

strong communication and collaboration skills

accuracy and high sense of responsibility

experience working with accounting systems

excellent Latvian and good English language skills both spoken and written

higher or incomplete higher education in economics finance or management sciences or professional qualification in accounting.
