Boeing Research & Technology is seeking a Manufacturing Research and Development Engineer to support the Berkeley Missouri facility. We are looking for a broad range of experience including Entry Associate or Mid-Level Engineers.

We are Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T): Boeings global research and development team creating and implementing innovative technologies that make the impossible possible and enabling the future of aerospace. We dont talk we do.

On the BR&T team we solve challenging material & process issues for production aircraft hardware. Whether its implementing new fabrication processes on the largest commercial airliner in development find opportunities to reduce the cycle time and cost of building structural parts for our products or solving challenging situations that arise on the factory floor every day brings new and unique opportunities.

This position supports the Boeing Defense Space & Security division through the application of engineering principles for the design fabrication and installation of equipment and processes. Boeing Research & Technology engineers work closely with production operations finance and equipment suppliers to provide cost effective solutions to improve the capacity quality and safety of Boeings operations.

Learn from experienced mentors to support design & fabrication of composite and metal parts on our current or future aircraft. Write equipment specifications and coordinate with technicians and senior engineers throughout. Analyze production processes to sort through complex challenges and diagnose the root cause of problems and then be the one to develop and implement the solution.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with definition of requirements for tools equipment materials parts and processes used in the engineering design manufacture and/or maintenance of Boeing products

  • Drafts engineering specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools equipment materials parts and processes

  • Assists in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needs

  • Assists with development and qualification of new tools equipment materials parts and processes to meet requirements. Performs routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements

  • Conducts routine analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools materials parts or processes

  • Assists in implementing corrective and preventive actions

  • Develops computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements

  • Uses project management tools to meet cost technical and schedule requirements. Incorporates environmental health and safety LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes (2) research design and qualification (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.

  • Level 1 - Bachelors degree

  • Level 2 - Bachelors degree and 2 years experience or Masters

  • Level 3 - Bachelors degree and 5 years experience or Masters & 3 years

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment

Summary pay range (level 1): $73950 - $100050

Summary pay range (level 2): $91 800 - $124200

Summary pay range (Level 3): $112200 - $151800
