Millennium Space Systems (MSS) a part of Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Receiving Quality Inspector - First Shift to support the Quality team in El Segundo CA!

Job Summary
The Senior Receiving Quality Inspector role will support the inspection of incoming piece parts and assemblies including machined parts (EEE) Electronic Electrical or Electro-mechanical components to ensure requirements and quality standards have been met or exceeded.

This positions internal job code is Quality Inspector. Our team is currently hiring for grade 24.

Job Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings models and specifications and perform inspections using tools such as micrometers gauges Romer arm coordinate measuring machine (CMM) etc.

• Perform visual and functional final inspection of incoming product and devices

• Perform review of documentation requirements such as Certificate of Conformance Test Dimensional and First Article Inspection reports

• Identify discrepant material prepare inspection reports regarding conformance and initiate discrepancy reports when needed

• Process material in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software

• Manage discrepant material and interface with internal/external stakeholders to successfully resolve non-conforming material issues

• Perform inspection under magnification of Printed Circuit Boards to verify workmanship and acceptability requirements per IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries) J-STD (Joint Standard) and NASA

• Create discrepancy reports for suspect or identified counterfeit parts

• Identify bottlenecks process gaps etc. and select continuous improvement projects to improve quality and/or efficiency
  Minimum Qualifications

• Experience using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) inspection tools (e.g. calipers micrometers height gauge etc.) and/or electronic inspection measurement tools (e.g. Digital multimeter)

• Previous experience with QA inspection process and techniques including interfacing with ERP systems

• Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings aerospace certifications and test reports

• Adaptable and creative problem-solving abilities

• Must be results oriented and be able to bring projects to a successful conclusion using multiple systems and resources

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills and ability to collaboratively work with diverse group of people/teams

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Qualified candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is Person includes US Citizen lawful permanent resident refugee or asylee.

Minimum Qualifications

• Training Certification to IPC J-STD and NASA inspection standards

• GD&T Training Certification

• CMM Romer/Faro Arm Training Certification
