Job Summary
As of September 9 2024 we are at capacity for our 2025-26 substitute teacher eligibility pool. This number is always changing so we will continue screening applications and interviewing candidates as the need arises. DESCRIPTION:
Substitute teachers receive short-term assignments to cover teacher absences from the classroom and are responsible for following lesson plans to maintain and further student learning. Successful applicants will receive assignments through SmartFind Express substitute scheduling system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This position requires at minimum an Emergency Substitute Teacher Permit for Prospective Teachers issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Candidates can qualify to apply for this Permit if they are enrolled in aregionally-accredited four-year California college or university have aminimum of 90 semester unitsand have passed the CBEST exam

REQUIREMENTS FOR HIRE
All applicants must:
- Complete application for this position(including 2 references)
- To expedite hire processing candidates may gather the following materials-(these will be requested during onboarding):
- Negative TB test current within past 60 days
- Sealed copies of all college transcripts
- Valid Drivers License ID card Permanent Residency Card or current US passport
- Social Security Card (no copies)
- Printout of your current credential
- Proof of passing CBEST or equivalent coursework
Important InformationRegarding the Basic Skills Requirement:
