DESCRIPTION:
Unity Lab Services a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Customer Site Supervisor to lead teams delivering integrated laboratory this role youll ensure operational excellence while managing comprehensive laboratory support services including stockroom/inventory management chemical handling glassware washing and laboratory maintenance. Youll guide cross-functional teams to consistently deliver exceptional customer service while identifying opportunities for service expansion and process improvement. Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders youll ensure service level agreements are met develop and track key performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Valid drivers license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed. This role covers the Northeast region. The ideal employee will be located in either Boston or Cambridge metro areas.

How will you get here

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree in business science or a related field preferred or an advanced degree with at least three years of experience or a bachelors degree with five years of experience in laboratory services or a related field. A combination of education and relevant experience that demonstrates the required skills will also be considered.

Experience

4 years of leadership experience managing teams with demonstrated success driving process improvements operational efficiency and inventory management within SOP-driven environments.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel Outlook Teams)
• Strong organizational project management and analytical skills with high attention to detail and sound decision-making in time-sensitive environments
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols GxP/regulatory requirements SDS documentation and DOT labeling.
• Basic chemical knowledge including safe handling calculations and material tracking
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
• Customer-focused mindset with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance in all aspects of work.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline. Personal protective equipment such as lab coats coveralls facemasks and steel-toe shoes is often required. The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs. Standing walking and manual material handling of chemical containers are frequent activities sometimes in varied temperature environments. Overtime work may also be necessary.
