Position Summary
Commercial has an opening for the position of Crude Planning & OptimizationEngineer .Thisposition will report to the Planning and Optimization Director. The candidate will collaborate daily with crude oil traders schedulers and Value Chain Optimization personnel to developan optimalregional crude slate. To be successful the candidate should be results driven with strong organizational and interpersonal skills an effective communicator and have curiosity to further develop advanced understanding of refinery operations economics and market dynamics across the value chain.

KeyResponsibilities:
Manages the commercial aspects of regionalrefinery feedstock selectionincorporatingproduct and intermediate placement supply chain optimization and market analysisinto decisions.
Demonstrates an advanced understanding of refinery operations economics and market dynamics for multiple refineries. Able to mentor junior engineers in planning and optimization strategies.
Leads collaboration meetings within the value chain to discuss both local and regional economic drivers.
Understands how regional plans for multiple refineries are developedoptimized and executed for multiple refineries using linear programming simulation models. Modifiesfeedstockplans as needed to adjust to demand/margin changes.Accurately incorporatesmodeling constraints to match real life refinery operating constraints.
Leads end-to-endfeedstock evaluations from data gathering to final recommendation. Develops sophisticated economic models and sensitivity analyses to assess risk and uncertainty. Collaborates with trading to align strategies andoptimizeoutcomes. Interfaces with refinery leadership to communicate recommendations and gain alignment.
Leads thefeedstock analysis ofbackcastdata considering factors such as production efficiency cost drivers and market conditions. Conducts in-depth root cause analysis toidentifyfactors influencing historical performance deviations. Collaborates withnatural workteams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Engineering.
Four (4)yearsrelevant experience. Technical Services or Economics & Planning experience preferred
