Description of Work

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Position is the highest level of nursing supervision and the health authority

responsible for the daily management/operation of the facilitys nursing operation.

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring professional nursing care and treatment are afforded to patients within medical policies protocols and

consistent with Board of Nursing requirements. Responsibilities include but

are not limited to:

• Direct supervision of all nursing staff to include staff schedules assignments orientation performance improvement evaluations and clinical competency evaluations.

• The Nurse Supervisor supervises and conducts needs assessments develops implements and evaluates treatment plans and provides patient care and education to offenders.

• Position will ensure all policies and procedures are followed and submit short and long-term goals to Leadership for review and approval.

• Position will perform administrative duties such as planning organizing and managing daily operations quality assurance Human Resource management functions and staff development.

• The Nurse Supervisor will be required to develop and maintain effective communication and work relationships with Physicians upper management healthcare personnel patients families agencies and others.

• The Nurse Supervisor must have the ability to identify and address quality monitoring and performance improvement issues for the facility.

• May be required to work any schedule to ensure medical operational needs are met at the facility level.

Salary Range: $ 74204 - $122437

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

• Prior experience supervising nursing and nursing support staff.

• Documented experience preparing/performing duties such as staff schedules assignments orientation and performance improvement and/or competency evaluations.

• Documented experience managing daily nursing operations.

**This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits.

    Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and three years of nursing experience including one years of experience in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.
