Job Summary
An established mining operation is seeking a qualified and experienced Winding Engine Driver to join its underground operations. This role is critical to ensuring the safe efficient and reliable operation of winding equipment in compliance with mining regulations and safety standards
Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 any subjects or Grade 11 with Mathematics & Science or 5 years WED experience
- DMR Winding Engine Driver certificate of competency
- DMR Onsetter certificate
- Learnership contract or proof of formal training or workbook
- Medical certificate of Fitness
- Computer Literacy
- Code 8 Drivers License
- Comply with health and safety management system and standards
- Safely efficiently transport men and materials in a shaft by means of an electrical winder
- Comply with the MHSA regulations Chapter 8.13
- React immediately to call bell by engaging in emergency procedures
- Trip safety circuit according to standard and procedure
- Report any safety related grievances or issues to the Foreman
- Establish and maintain effective communication
- Share work related information with supervisor and banksman/ onsetter/ artisan
- Comply with takeover SOP i.e. Test brakes take marks checks over and under winds check logbook/ daily drivers log sheet for any problems or previous entries made and countersign accordingly
- Operate winding engine according to shaft schedule in conjunction with the Banksman/ Onsetter
