This position will be located at Camp Burnt Gin in Sumter County.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist with all aspects of food preparation and service including preparing cooking and serving food according to menu cycle. Modify meals according to special dietary needs of campers.
Responsible for all aspects of the cleaning and care of kitchen food service equipment pans and dishware. Clean and maintain food preparation and storage areas.
Follow state health department regulations concerning safe food preparation and facility cleanliness.
Assist with the opening and closing of camp and the ongoing inventory of food janitorial and non-food supplies. Assist with the storage of food.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Must be a high school graduate and have experience and/or training in food preparation and service.
Must have knowledge of food safety practices.
Must be able stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
Must be able to interact effectively with individuals and groups respecting social and cultural diversity and maintain appropriate boundaries.

Additional Comments

Camp Burnt Gin is a summer camp for children teens and young adults who have special health care needs. The job requires employee to stand for extended periods of time.
Workdays vary according to camp schedule and there are scheduled days off between camp sessions. Some weekend work may be required on occasion. The morning shift work schedule is 7:00 am 1:30 pm. The afternoon shift is 1:00 pm 7:30 pm.
