The Head Start program is designed to offer acceptance into the Year 1 Formation Program while also giving successful candidates a head start on their service by beginning their employment with CCO four months prior to the start of the program*. This is a great option for students convocating in the Fall semester. Your skills gifts and strengths will be put to good use in executing the necessary National aspects of our movement. Receive our world-class training in evangelization and intentional accompaniment working directly as part of a dynamic team of missionaries serving in one of our National Headquarters departments:
- Human Resources
- Finance and Properties
- Stewardship and Development
- Events
- Missions
- Media and Marketing
After completing the formation year you may be invited to continue as a CCO Missionary with a 2-year contract.
*Employment begins at the end of December 2026. From September to December Head Start employees will receive training and accountability in raising the necessary funds for their first four months of employment. The Formation Program begins on May 1st at our New Hire Orientation. The following summer months are spent in initial training and Mission Partnership Development (MPD- see job posting and description).
ADDITIONAL INFO
- Head Start National HQ Missionaries work in person at CCOs National Headquarters Office located in Ottawa Ontario Canada.
- Head Start National HQ Missionaries receive a monthly salary equivalent to the minimum wage of the province of employment and are based on a 40 hour work week. Salaries increase with years of experience.
- All employees of CCO are required to participate in the mission of the New Evangelization within the Catholic Church and work toward the propagation of the Gospel. This includes taking the initiative to lead CCO Catholic Faith studies share the kerygma (through tools like the Ultimate Relationship booklet) and/or participation in the evangelization efforts of CCO including opportunities to participate in CCO Missions.

- One must be an Employment Reference.
- Two must be Character References. One must be CCO Missionary and the 2nd Character reference must adequately attest to your character and cannot be a family member.
