Department/Unit Summary

Join our team in the Cath Lab where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of RNs. You will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs administering treatments and ensuring patient comfort and safety. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

Essential Functions

  • Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration specimen collection clinical treatments and other medical care activities.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Monitors records and communicates patient condition to the care team physician patient and family.
  • Prepares positions and transports patients for procedures.
  • Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions scopes equipment and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
  • Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
  • Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.
  • Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care including transfers discharges referrals and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age culture condition and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
  • Assists patients with daily living activities including personal hygiene elimination nutrition and ambulation.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates degree from an accredited nursing school.

Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS and PALS preferred
  • One year of experience preferred

Patient Populations Served: Neonate Infant Early Childhood Late Childhood Adolescent Young Adult Middle Adult Older Adult.

Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic Clinical Insurance Financial Complete Medical Record.

Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.

Physical Requirements: Frequent standing walking lifting/moving patients and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards including blood and bodily fluids hazardous medications and latex.
