The City of Auburn Parks Arts & Recreation Department is seeking a dynamic Registration Clerk/Office Assistant.This position performs routine clerical work that includes basic keyboarding data entry calculating filing and frequent interaction with the public in person and over the phone.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The City of Auburn is seeking a candidate who has:
  • Customer service
  • General understanding of the recreation department/field
  • Experience with cash handling
  • Experience with program registration or facility bookings

OUR PARKS DEPARTMENT
Auburns Recreation Division provides opportunities for the public to participate in diverse recreational programs and activities designed to meet the needs of the community. These programs include preschool youth teen and adult leisure programs; youth teen and adult athletics; fitness and wellness programs; programs designed to provide social and recreational opportunities to senior citizens and those with special needs and a host of special events suitable for the entire family and community at large. OUR CITY

Primary Duties

In this role you will:

  • Courteously and effectivelywork with public officials citizens registrants special populations participants and other employees both in person and over the phone.
  • Greets customersas they arrive at the building.
  • Assist the public with a wide variety of information pertaining to City and department programs facilities services and community activities.
  • Act as a cashierfor department program fees; reconciles funds.
  • Take messages and complaintsfrom citizens and the community in a polite and professional manner. Determine nature of messageor complaintand if it cannot be resolved by employee refers to appropriate staff or department head.
  • Develop update and generateclass rosters and mailing lists for Parks Arts and Recreation programs.
  • Be responsible for administration of the ACTIVENetdatabase to schedule record and process class and athletic programs.

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have...

  • Ahigh school diplomaor equivalent
AND
  • 1 year of office support experiencein customer/consumer based work environment

We would love it if you had:
  • Are able to type and enter data accurately.
  • Vocational or college courses in computer and office skills preferred.
  • Cashiering experience preferred.
