Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Evaluates inmate records to determine eligibility status for institutional assignment custody changes interstate compact designated facilities transfers visitation employment and treatment programs.
Develops coordinates and implements an equitable classification system for a caseload of approximately 252 inmates.
Conducts periodic reviews and evaluates the progress of inmates.
Counsels with Inmates on general institutional adjustment or related problems.
Responds orally and/or through written correspondence to inquiries for Information on inmates by departmental officials and other agencies.
Operates theCRT to ascertain information pertaining to inmates social criminal educational and family histories.
Perform other related duties as required.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimal Requirements:

A high school diploma and related experience. A bachelors degree may be substituted for the required related experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

A bachelors degree.

An associates degree and any one (1) year combination of administrative and/or correctional experience.

A high school diploma and any (2) year combination of administrative and/or correctional experience.
