The Position

An exciting opportunity has developed for an experienced Lawyer with developed Personal Injury Law experience (3 5 years PQE) to join our successful and growing team.

The position is based primarily in our Parramatta office where the team will be relocating to stunning new offices conveniently located near Parramatta Train Station due to boast glass walls allowing ample natural light impressive board and meetings rooms lots of break out spaces open plan seating and hybrid working arrangements. The role will require you to work from our Sydney office from time to time depending on the clients requirements.

There is an abundance of support and expertise available within our organisation. Working alongside our Directors of considerable skill you will undertake a vast range of personal injury law work. This is a superb opportunity for an experienced lawyer with family law experience and a passion for this area of law to develop their skills and become a specialist in the personal injury law arena. Career progression and empowering the candidate to so is also available.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

personal injury law experience ideally with specialist accreditation (desirable);

to work autonomously with minimal supervision;

capability of managing and supervising staff;

advocacy and client management skills;

and meeting financial management requirements of files;

-to-day carriage of files across all types of personal injury law matters i.e. have exposure to broad spectrum of complex law work managing matters from start to end including:

  • Public Liability (Slip & Falls)
  • Medical Negligence
  • Motor Vehicle Accidents
  • TPD and Superannuation Claims
  • Workers Compensation & Work Injury Damages

to claims in various industries advantageous such as:

a.Personal Injury and Public Liability

  • Travel & Leisure e.g. Airlines cruise lines parks theme parks or recreational areas restaurants hotels or cafes.
  • Rental and Schools education colleges universities schools landlord claims.
  • Shopping Centre falls or Council negligence for slip and trips.

b.Medical negligence

  • GP and Hospital claims e.g.: Malpractice misdiagnosis Hospital Surgical Doctors.
  • Birth claims e.g.: Injury to mothers or babies and birth defects/
  • Clinical claims Cosmetic or dental surgery.
  • Other

c.Motor Vehicle Accidents

  • Pedestrian
  • Vehicle (Car Truck Motorbicycle bicycle)
  • Public Transport
  • Forklift
  • Other

d.TPD & Superannuation

  • Disability Claims
  • Critical Illness
  • Physical Injury
  • Mental Illness
  • Other

e.Workers Compensation

  • Common Accident Claims lifting and back injuries industrial accidents mental health or repetitive strain injury.
  • Claims by industry e.g. Farming construction or trade emergency services health care offices warehouse injuries.

In addition you will possess:

8.A Bachelor of Laws and hold a current practising certificate with 3-5 years post qualified experience in personal injury;

working in Local District Supreme Courts of Australia and Personal Injury or Workers Compensation Commissions and Tribunals;

strong problem solving and time management skills;

motivated dynamic career-orientated and a team player;

professionally presented with initiative and superior communication skills; and

in and develop your own business development activities with a view to helping grow the practice.
