Job Summary
Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: St. Joseph MO
Contract Duration: 12 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: Day Shift Monday Friday
Hours: 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
Position Overview
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support both front-office and back-office operations. This role requires a versatile professional who can deliver excellent patient care while assisting with clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
Greet register and room patients in a professional and courteous manner
Perform clinical tasks including taking vital signs phlebotomy/venipuncture EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing
Administer vaccines and assist with other clinical procedures as needed
Support front-office operations including scheduling appointments and answering phones
Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Ensure smooth patient flow and assist providers with clinical support
Maintain a collaborative and professional relationship with clinical and administrative staff
Adhere to safety infection control and patient confidentiality standards
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (externship not included)
Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience required
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
Proficient computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
Medical Assistant Certification (strongly preferred)
Occupational Health experience (strongly preferred)
