Job Summary

Overview:Quinnipiac Universitys School of Health Sciences is seeking dynamic and forward-thinking applicants for a Full-Time Clinical Faculty and Associate Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AAFC) to join the Department of Occupational Therapy (OT). This 12-month open rank clinical faculty position offers an exceptional opportunity to shape the next generation of occupational therapists while advancing your own career in a supportive innovative academic environment through serving the Master of Occupation Therapy (MOT) and Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) programs with teaching and administrative responsibilities. This position is based at the North Haven CT campus and requires on-site presence. You will be instrumental in connecting OT students with fieldwork practice opportunities developing maintaining and coordinating partnerships with clinical placement sites and ensuring students receive quality supervision that bridges classroom theory with hands-on experience. The expected start date of this position is July 1 2026.
About the School/Program:

The School of Health Sciences is home to approximately 100 full-time faculty and professional staff and enrolls over 2120 students across over 20 graduate and undergraduate academic offerings. The school is organized into 8 departments offering undergraduate majors in biomedical sciences health sciences radiologic sciences medical microbiology &immunologyand diagnostic medical sonography and graduate majors in physician assistant studies occupational therapy physical therapy social work biomedical sciences pathologistsassistantand cardiovascular perfusion. Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Education/Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and the Department Chair the AAFC is responsible to:

  • Support and contribute to the mission vision values and strategic initiatives and implementation of Quinnipiac University its School of Health Sciences and the Department of OT;

  • Assist the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) tocomply withthe current ACOTE accreditationfieldwork standards;

  • Ensuretimelyfieldwork placements of students according to departmental expectations;

  • Establish andmaintainfieldwork agreements within designated regionsin accordance withuniversity policies and ACOTE requirements;

  • Monitor compliance with fieldwork site requirementsmaintainsitedataand communicate placements with students and Director of Clinical Education/Academic Fieldwork Coordinator;

  • Strengthen ties between didactic and fieldwork education through collaboration with OT faculty and clinical sites;

  • Collaborate with fieldwork educators toestablishfieldworkobjectives ensure fieldwork educators-to-students ratio for proper supervision and provide assessments in meetingstatedfieldwork students learningobjectives;

  • Communicate with students and fieldwork educatorsmonitorstudent progress and performance at OT Fieldwork Level II;

  • Ensure students fieldwork experience is designed to promote clinical/professional reasoning and reflective practice totransmitthe values and beliefs for ethical practice and develop students with professionalism and competence in OT career responsibilities;

  • Contribute to evaluating fieldwork supervision effectiveness and provide resources to fieldwork supervisors for supervision effectiveness and efficiency;

  • Ensure that supervisors provide consumer protection and beappropriate rolemodeling of OT students at fieldwork practice;

  • Facilitate andmaintainfieldwork-related records including student data fieldwork data and agreements;

  • Contribute to program assessment/evaluation related to the fieldwork components in the curricula andidentifyareas for further program development;

  • Advise and mentor students prior to and during fieldwork for enhancing performance and experience

  • Support fieldwork educators in their supervisory role to enhance students fieldwork performance and experience;

  • Develop and teach fieldwork related courses and content related to area of expertise within the occupational therapy program

  • Any other related business assigned by the department chair

Education Requirements:

  • Applicants must have earned a post-professional doctoral degree awarded by an institution accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Eligible for or currentlypossessOccupational Therapy licensure in the State of Connecticut

  • Active National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) registration as an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR)

  • Minimum of 5 years of documented clinical experience as an occupational therapist in the United States.

  • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist with experience working inter-professionally.

  • Experience supervising occupational therapy fieldwork students

  • Strong attention to detail excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills

  • Proficient computer skills including the use of database systems

  • Commitment to contributing to the academic community for members from all backgrounds and cultures.

Preferred qualifications include:

Experience:

  • Teaching experience at the post-baccalaureate/graduate level in occupational therapy education.

  • Volunteer leadership service relevant to the field of occupational therapy

  • Experience working with students and preceptors from clinical education programs

  • Knowledge of current ACOTE accreditation standards and/or requirements.
