Under general supervision the Senior Systems Specialist performs testing research diagnosis and assessment of system features functions or reports; provides specialized application assistance training and support to clients based on in-depth knowledge of system features and client needs; and provides work direction and guidance to Systems Specialists and clerical staff.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:
  • Terminology methods and techniques of research testing and assessment of automated business systems and databases
  • Training techniques
  • Processes and terminology used in the administration of accounting or financial functions
  • Principles and practices of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Principles and practices of data validation
  • Production management in support of functional business activities
  • Applicable federal and state laws and regulations
  • Microsoft Office Word Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Basic arithmetic

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.

Experience:Three years of automated business systems experience that include one year of systemsprocessing experience entering updatingor monitoring data and resolving related issues.

Additional Requirements:College coursework in accounting business or personnel administration is desirable. A valid California drivers license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required.

Selection ProcessCandidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a multiple choice exam a computer performance exam and a structured interview.
