Main Purpose of Job

This recruitment is open for multiple positions. These part-time positions function on an intermediate level of work providing counseling or other therapeutic mental health services to seriously mentally ill adolescents in the residential and day treatment setting that is family driven and youth guided.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university with aminimum of 12 credit hours in mental health health human services educationor related behavioral sciences including six credit hours in psychologycounseling addictions or mental health.

Experience:One year ofexperience providing counseling or other therapeutic mental health services toseriously mentally ill children or adolescents.

Notes:
1.A Bachelors degree from anaccredited college or university with 30 credit hours in mental health healthhuman services education or related behavioral sciences including six credithours in psychology counseling addictions or mental health may be substitutedfor the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute Forces military serviceexperience as a non-commissioned officer inMental Addictions or Behavioral Health Counseling and Psychologyclassifications orMental Addictions or Behavioral Health Counseling andPsychologyspecialtycodes in the counseling field of work on a year-for-year basis for the requiredexperience and education.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

in thisclassification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motorvehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess amotor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
in thisclassification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonaryresuscitation training and maintain current certification.
in thisclassification may be assigned duties in a swimming program. Employeesassigned such duties may be required to obtain certification in Life Saving andWater Safety.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

SELECTION PROCESS

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage accidental death and dismemberment insurance and life insurance but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
