Position Overview
The Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks while ensuring high-quality delivery across full-stack and API-driven applications. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java-based automation API testing and BDD frameworks along with the ability to lead and mentor testing teams in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Extend enhance and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and JavaScript
Analyze business requirements to develop comprehensive test strategies and plans
Develop automated functional test scripts using Java Karate and JMeter
Plan design develop and maintain API test automation frameworks
Provide technical leadership and mentor onshore and offshore test engineers
Perform exploratory and manual testing as required
Collaborate with product owners to clarify functionality and resolve defects
Enforce testing methodologies best practices and quality standards

Typical Day & Team Structure
Daily Activities: Coding automation frameworks writing test scripts planning test strategies mentoring team members and collaborating with developers and product owners
Team Environment: Collaborative team of 20 members requiring frequent interaction

Required Education & Experience
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field
Experience: 8-10 years of relevant experience in software engineering and test automation

Required Skills (Non-Negotiable)
Strong design and development skills in Java (3-5 years)
Expert-level experience (8 years) in test automation framework design
3-5 years of experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or JBehave
3-5 years of hands-on experience in API testing (REST APIs / Web Services)
3 years of experience developing scenario-based performance tests using JMeter
Ability to write and execute queries using SQL or other relational databases
Proven experience in full-stack integration and end-to-end system testing

Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience with Python
Development experience using AWS Cloud technologies
Experience with TDD continuous integration and code review practices
Experience with Apigee or other API gateways
Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD Jenkins Git)
2 years of experience working in an Agile/Lean environment
Understanding of microservices architecture
Strong documentation skills
