How youll contribute

ARespiratory Therapistwho excels in this role:

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer; EKGs and tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
• Delivers ordered respiratory therapies; monitors records and communicates patient condition and response to treatment.
• Responds to codes and emergent calls; assesses patient condition and provides appropriate interventions.
• Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes research and best practices.
• Educates patients and families on illness treatments device use and community resources.
• Monitors receives stocks and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas and equipment readiness.
• Disassembles cleans sterilizes performs preventive maintenance and calibrates respiratory equipment.
• Performs all responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What were looking for

Education: Associates degree in respiratory therapy required.

License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in state of North Carolina.

Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS PALS and NRP required. Skills: Critical thinking decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments. Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems. Effective English communication (read write speak and understand). Ability to successfully complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
