DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the direction of the Cook or Food Service Supervisor plates meals for patients/residents and staff washes and scrubs pots pans and related dish washing duties; prepares and portions therapeutic diet items including nourishments; measures and combines food and beverage ingredients by methods such as grinding blending slicing dicing and/or puree; and checks patient/residents meals to ensure dietary accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Grade 10 plus one years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize workload.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to deal effectively with others.
