Sheet Metal Mechanic Slate Aviation
Slate Aviation is seeking experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanics to support heavy maintenance modification and structural repair programs at our Macon GA facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in close-tolerance drilling riveting structure re-work and corrosion removal in an MRO or heavy check environment.
Responsibilities
Perform structural repairs modifications and re-work on commercial aircraft
Read interpret and follow AMM SRM SBs EOs engineering drawings and blueprints
Drill ream countersink and deburr holes to close tolerances
Install fasteners including solid rivets Hi-Loks CherryMax and nutplates
Repair and fabricate patches doublers frames ribs clips and brackets
Remove corrosion and perform blend-outs as required
Work on skin panels stringers frames floor structures and seat tracks
Support non-routine findings and heavy-maintenance tasks
Ensure all work meets FAA company and quality standards
Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow shop / safety procedures
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in MRO / Heavy Maintenance / C-Checks
Experience on Boeing or Airbus commercial aircraft platforms
Ability to work from engineering documents and repair manuals
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Ability to work in a team-oriented fast-paced environment
Requirements
Minimum 2 years aircraft sheet metal experience (or military equivalent)
Must be able to pass drug test background check and compliance onboarding
Must provide own basic sheet metal tools
Ability to work overtime or variable shifts as needed
