Job Summary and Purpose
The Head Football Coach position will report to the Building Administrator. This position will lead and manage its interscholastic football program and be responsible for building competitive student-centered programs that emphasizes sportsmanship academic success character development and safety in accordance with VHSL regulations and Stafford County Public Schools policies.
Work Objectives/Essential Functions
Lead and oversee all aspects of the football program (varsity and sub-varsity levels)
Plan and conduct effective practices and competitions
Supervise and support assistant coaches
Promote academic achievement and positive behavior among student-athletes
Ensure compliance with VHSL district and school policies
Manage equipment scheduling and program organization
Communicate effectively with players parents and school administration
Education and Experience
Education Level
| Specific Educational Requirements | High school diploma required; bachelors degree preferred |
Experience
| Specific Experience Requirements | Previous football coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred |
Required Licensures and Certifications
Teaching certification or school employment preferred per district policy
Formal Certifications Relevant to the Job
Completion of all VHSL and district coaching requirements (CPR/First Aid/AED concussion training background check)
