THE ROLE
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Installation servicing and fault-finding of underground reticulation (1000V/415V) substations and distribution boards.
- Production Support: Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on mobile fleet electrical systems including Production Drills Diamond Drills Jumbos (e.g. Sandvik/Atlas Copco) and Loaders.
- Specialised Systems: Installing testing and repair of RCT Teleremote and Guidance systems to ensure safe remote operation of production loaders.
- Dewatering & Ventilation: Maintain and troubleshoot critical UG infrastructure including primary/secondary ventilation fans and high-head pumping systems.
- Compliance & Testing: Conduct statutory electrical testing and tagging Earth Leakage testing and maintain the mines electrical logbooks to AS/NZS 3000/3007 standards.
- Communications: Assist with the maintenance of underground communication networks (e.g. Leaky Feeder Wi-Fi or Fibre Optic Digital Drift infrastructure).
- Planning: Actively participate in the scoping and planning of electrical shutdowns and new development installations.
WHAT DO I NEED
Essential:
- Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence.
- Current C Class Manual WA Drivers Licence (Manual is usually a hard requirement for site LV use).
- LVR/CPR Certification (Low Voltage Rescue is critical for mine site compliance).
- Demonstrated experience in Underground Mining (minimum 2 years).
- Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics.
Desirable:
- High Voltage (HV) Switching Ticket: Highly valued for working on underground substations.
- RCT Training Certifications: Specifically Basic/Advanced Maintenance for Teleremote systems.
- High Risk Work Licences: EWP Forklift and Working at Heights.
- Instrumentation Qualification: Experience with sensors flow meters and PLC systems.
- Computer Literacy: Experience using Pronto Excel etc for work order management.
