Job Summary: | The University of Colorado seeks an exceptional physician leader to serve as the Division Chief of the Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology Division in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This senior leadership role is responsible for advancing the strategic clinical educational and research missions of the Division leading a division of full-time faculty physicians advanced practice providers and researchers. The division contains a Section of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Generalist / Hospitalist hybrid physicians. Clinical care is carried out at the Anschutz Medical Campus and in the greater Denver Metro community. The Division Chief will foster excellence in patient care innovative research and top-tier education and training programs. This position requires a dynamic and passionate physician leader with the desire to oversee the full spectrum of individual scholarship collaborative academic leadership clinical and research program development educational excellence successful faculty recruitment and retention community engagement and the design and implementation of effective high quality programs within and across complex organizations. The selected individual must maintain a full-time faculty position in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Associate Professor or Professor their faculty position the individual will provide clinical care in both obstetrics and gynecology including inpatient and outpatient service and surgery as a member of the University OB Practice. Position includes primarily clinical duties but we also actively participate in teaching medical students and residents. Key Responsibilities: Provide visionary and innovative leadership to lead the division into the next phase of growth and development in partnership with the Division Administrator Recruit hire and retain outstanding faculty. Ensure an atmosphere of respect professional support and development for all stakeholders. HR/PRISM management of faculty within the division in partnership with the Division Administrator. Support the goal of recognizing the value of all employees and contributing to a positive collaborative culture that engenders a commitment to the organizations success. Ensure a deliberate and priority-driven investment into research educational and clinical activities for the division. Advocate for womens health and reproductive rights by promoting access to comprehensive healthcare services to ensure that all women receive the necessary support and resources they need. Provide the vision and leadership to achieve superior high quality clinical programs within the division and related disciplines. Work with other leaders at the University of Colorado to build and grow areas of acknowledged clinical excellence. Ensure delivery of excellent clinical education and advanced training to medical students residents and fellows. Provide leadership and oversight to the residency and fellowship programs within the Department and ensure learners are receiving comprehensive training and development opportunities. Ensure financial performance of the Division in partnership with the Division Administrator. Participate in the rotational schedules of the obstetric and gynecologic call pools clinics during the week and any other clinical activities that the Division participates in Participate in the Divisions role as educators for our interns residents fellows and colleagues as requested. Desired Outcomes: Identify and partner in the development of clinical programs or clinical locations for strategic growth. Engage and build relationships with faculty and support morale across the Division. Retain Division faculty and create a pipeline for the promotion of junior faculty. Strong working partnerships across multiple stakeholders and health partners. |

Qualifications: | Minimum Qualifications: Associate Professor MD or DO degree from an accredited institution. Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program. Board-certified OBGYN Colorado Medical License 5-7 years of clinical OBGYN experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications Meets criteria for Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine Professor MD or DO degree from an accredited institution. Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Obstetrics & Gynecology residency program. Board-certified OBGYN Colorado Medical license Ten (10) years of clinical OBGYN experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications 5-7 years of leadership experience in clinical operations Experience as a clinical educator Meets criteria for Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine Preferred Qualifications: Completion of an OBGYN Hospitalist fellowship Experience as a clinical educator Fifteen (15) years of experience in an academic medical center Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Evidence of scholarly productivity including peer-reviewed publications clinical trials involvement or translational research contributions. Experience with strategic planning quality improvement and operational or financial oversight within a clinical division or multidisciplinary program. Documented commitment to fostering a culture of equity access & engagement mentorship and professional development. Strong record of teaching medical students residents and fellows with evidence of curriculum development or program leadership (preferred). Commitment to trainee development faculty career progression and building academic pipelines. Demonstrated experience in leading faculty managing teams or directing clinical programs service lines or research initiatives. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Demonstrated professionalism communication skills and ability to represent the division within departmental and institutional leadership structures. |

Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as Associate Professor: starting at $295706 Professor: starting at $329260 The annual stipend for the Division Chief has been established at $20000 in addition to 0.20 FTE of protected time. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
