• Performs specific tasks as directed by the RN and other healthcare team members as identified in the PCT role. Consults and seeks out guidance from RN and/or other healthcare team members as appropriate and when completing new or unfamiliar tasks or duties.
• Tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Activities of Daily Living
  • Answering patient call lights
  • Assisting with simple procedures defined in the work area
  • Taking and recording vital signs and weights
  • Transporting patients equipment supplies and specimens
  • Assists in maintaining a clean orderly and safe environment
  • Obtains records and/or accurately enters data into the EMR. Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patients care.
  • Verbally presents factual concise and timely information and/or patient care data to the RN the healthcare team patients and/or family members in a professional manner.

Education:

• Enrolled in a formal BSN or ADN nursing program to include completion of introductory clinical nursing course with clinical component.

  Team members within UPH-DM may remain in Student Nurse tech role for up to 6-months after passing the board and achieving RN license.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Must possess and maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire.

Experience:

• Completion of 1 RN clinical rotation

Other:

• Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
