The Construction Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily activities of field crews to ensure projects are completed safely on schedule and in accordance with project plans and company standards. This role serves as the primary point of contact between field personnel project management and subcontractors on the jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise lead and coordinate field crew activities on a daily basis
- Assign tasks and ensure work is completed according to project plans specifications and schedules
- Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations; conduct jobsite safety meetings and inspections
- Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with codes standards and contract requirements
- Coordinate with Project Managers Superintendents subcontractors inspectors and vendors
- Read and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications
- Track labor hours materials equipment usage and daily jobsite progress
- Identify and resolve jobsite issues delays or safety concerns promptly
- Maintain clean organized and professional jobsites
- Train mentor and evaluate crew members; promote teamwork and accountability
- Ensure tools equipment and materials are used properly and maintained
- Complete daily reports timecards and other required documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on construction experience with prior leadership or foreman experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction methods materials and safety practices
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents
- Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
- OSHA certification preferred (OSHA 10 or 30)
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand walk bend kneel climb and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work extended hours including early mornings or overtime as needed
