Major Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Capital Estimating perform responsible work in the planning implementation coordination monitoring and evaluation of landscape architecture projects for the Capital Projects division. Examples of typical projects: reconstruction and new development of parks playgrounds sports fields and courts.
- Prepare new needs estimates for potential project sites so Parks can ask for funding.
- Use specialized software to estimate unit costs for standard and custom Parks construction items.
- Prepare estimates showing quantities labor hours equipment and material costs for in-house designed landscape architecture projects.
- Work with landscape architects and the community to align project scope and estimates at different stages of the design process to ensure projects are within budget.
- Review project costs prepared by consultant designers and recommend modifications if needed.
- Formulate independent cost estimates for change order work in construction when requested.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
