RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions
- Coach and administrate all aspects of the cross-country program.
- Assist in all aspects of the track and field program.
- Coordinate the on campus intramural program.
- Evaluate and recruit student-athletes for the cross country/track and field programs.
- Work within policy guidelines and regulations of the Hutchinson Community College Athletic Department the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and the NJCAA.
- Arrive on time for work attend work regularly and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
- Comply with HutchCC policies procedures and practices.
Secondary
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director.
QUALIFICATIONS (Essential):
- Bachelors Degree required. Masters degree preferred.
- Successful background in coaching track and field preferred.
- Successful management of budgets.
- Successful background in the recruitment process of student athletes preferred.
- The ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students faculty staff administration alumni media and the general public.
- Physical requirements include excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to understand words and respond effectively and appropriately; Visual acuity to view a computer terminal; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; Moderate outdoor and indoor work environment.
- Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions about the position.
- Physical and mental qualifications must be performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.

SALARY and STATUS:
The Salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This full-time administration position is 12 months annual at-will benefit eligible and exempt.
HutchCC CSA Job Description Addendum:
Satisfy the duties of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) relating to Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) by:
- Promptly reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes to the designated HutchCC official(s) in accordance with applicable laws policies and procedures;
- Completing any HutchCC provided CSA training regarding campus safety and crime reporting issues;
- Assisting in the issuance of timely warnings and emergency notifications in accordance with applicable laws policies and procedures;
- Serving as a resource to students employees and others regarding crime prevention reporting and victim assistance; and
- Collaborating with the Coordinator of Campus Safety the Coordinator of Equity & Compliance and the Director of Human Resources regarding campus safety and compliance issues.
- A professional counselor as designated by HutchCC and whose official responsibilities include providing mental health counseling to members of the HutchCC community may be exempt from reporting Clery Act crimes and/or allegations of Clery Act crimes when functioning within the scope of the counselors license or certification.
