Job Summary

The Production Manageris responsible forthe cultureplanning coordinating and overseeing daily manufacturing operations for commercial HVAC equipment to ensure safety quality delivery and costobjectivesare met. This role leads production teams manages schedules and resources and drives continuous improvement across fabrication assembly and test operations. The Production Manager collaborates closely with engineering supply chain quality and maintenance to ensure consistent product flow adherence to specifications and compliance with regulatory and safety standards while meeting customer demand and operational performance targets.
KeyResponsibilities:
  • Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor production supervisors teamleads and operators; set performance goals and conduct evaluations.
  • ManageProductionSchedule:Develop and implement planstomeetproductionschedulesthat satisfy customerdemand qualityexpectations andestablishedship dates.
  • SuperviseStaff:Lead and motivate production teamsmonitorperformance evaluate staff andidentifytraining needs.
  • Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor production supervisors teamleads and operators; set performance goals and conduct evaluations. (Is this better than Supervise Staff)
  • Resource Management:Manage the allocation of resources including personnel materials and equipment to meet production requirements.
  • Safety Compliance:Ensure compliance with company safety policies.
  • Quality Control:Work with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet specifications and resolve quality issues quickly.
  • Continuous Improvement:Promote a culture of continuous improvement toeliminateissuesthat disrupt the production process.
  • Collaboration:Ensures open communication and effective collaboration between production teams and supporting departments to prevent production delays quality issues and safety risks.
  • Work with Maintenance to developand implement preventative maintenance plans:Creating schedules for routine inspections cleaning andservicing ofequipment to prevent breakdowns and extendassetlifespan
  • Reporting and analysis:Generatereports onproductionKPIsactivities andpresentto stakeholders.
  • Process Compliance-Ensures all production activitiescomply withestablished processes work instructions quality standards and safety requirements to achieve consistent and repeatable results.
Required skills:
  • Leadership:Ability to supervise motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Administration and Management:Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning resource allocation human resources modeling leadership technique production methods and coordination of people and resources.
  • Communication:Strong communicationskills toconvey information effectively tostaff management and other departments.
  • Critical Thinking:Using logic and reasoning toidentifythe strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Financial management:Comprehension of financial statements and the impacts of costs on gross margin and net revenue.
  • Technical and analytical skills:Proficiencyin relevant software and the ability to analyze data to improve processes.
  • Understanding ofproduction processes:Knowledge ofraw materials production processes quality control costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Problem-solving skills:Diagnosingequipmentproduction and relatedissuesidentifyingroot causes and developing effective solutions.
  • Regulatory knowledge:Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements
  • Lean Manufacturing:Demonstratesthe ability to apply lean manufacturing principles toeliminatewaste improve process flow and increase productivity whilemaintainingquality and safety.
  • Time Management:Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Experience
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • 5 years of experience in leadership positions.
  • 3 years of experience as a production manager.
Safety/Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires the incumbents presence on site in the plant/in the office for a minimum of40 hoursper week.
  • Incumbentmust be able to access manufacturing and assembly areas on the shop floorin order toinspect units investigate problems and/or potential solutions to problems and toprove outpotential solutions to problems.
  • Capable oflifting/moving parts weighing 50 lbs. or less.
  • Mustpass backgroundcheckand drugtest.
  • Requires bendingstoopingand standing.
  • Must be able to stand from six (6) to eight (8) hours per day.(Overtime may extend thetime period.)
  • Good visual and spatial perception.
